The Nordic countries will be focusing on wind power development the coming years. The NordVind-project looks at the conditions for wind power development in the region. As a starting point the project looks at how the governments plan and treat wind power projects, but it will also look into other relevant implications. Tht first phase began in 2006 and finished 2007. Phase II began January 2008, and looked into how landscape affects the placing of windmills, how to build competence among local planners of wind power plants, the coordination and collective experiences from Danish, Swedish and German windmill projects at Kriegers Flak, as well as an increased focus on coordination of power grids in relation to wind power production.
