From A to B without the CO2

GasPlas has developed a groundbreaking new technology for production of hydrogen without CO2. This enables a truly clean hydrogen transport system with no CO2 emissions from well to wheel.

No by products. With Gasplas' technology the only emissions from the cars of the future will be water.

GasPlas has developed a new technology for clean production of hydrogen and carbon structures in a distributed and environmentally sustainable manner. The hydrogen is extracted from hydrocarbons such as methane by means of low-energy plasma cracking and generates dry carbon rather than carbon dioxide. Effective distribution of H2 can now be achieved using existing universal natural gas networks and generating hydrogen on-demand at point of use.

Future power source

Fuel cells have long been seen as the power source of the future. Today’s technology for commercial production of hydrogen is however not emission free, its by product being carbon dioxide. There is a widely recognised need to produce hydrogen efficiently without pollution. GasPlas has developed the first truly viable solution – split the methane directly into hydrogen and carbon, and collect the carbon as a powder. It makes no greenhouse gas emissions, and in addition saves energy compared to alternative methods. GasPlas uses a proprietary low-energy plasma system to crack methane directly into its constituents – hydrogen and carbon. The hydrogen can be compressed and stored local to the point of use and fed into vehicle tanks as in current pioneering hydrogen vehicles, or used in a stationary fuel cell stack, while the carbon can be collected as a valuable co-product.

Flexible solution

The GasPlas patent is compact and scalable and can be built in any size to fit the application. There is no need to build a costly hydrogen infrastructure – simply use the existing universal natural gas infrastructure and convert it to hydrogen at point of use as and when needed.
