The Nordic countries have excellent prerequisites for a revolution in energy supply and energy use in the form of access to considerable resources of renewable energy, and we have thus much to offer the world.
Similarly the Nordic Region is a leader with regard to the development and use of environmental technology. Further Nordic efforts in working with innovation based on users' needs in general could be the key to sustainable growth and new green activities in the Nordic Region.
The global winners, whether they are regions, countries or companies, will be those that manage to organise their innovation work in such a way that they meet the challenges of the users and communities, and quickly come up with practical solutions which can be implemented.
Nordic Clean Tech innovation
Awareness of global environmental challenges has created a highly competitive market for environmental technology, focusing on new and emerging integrated solutions. Today, environmental technology and environmental friendly solutions are among the fastest growing industries globally. The market is asking for integrated solutions for complex environmental challenges. While the competence level in environmental technology is high in the Nordic countries and the environmental image of the Nordic region is excellent, the Nordic share of the global market does not yet reflect the potential. In order to increase competitiveness, the Nordic Innovation Centre provides opportunities for Nordic industries to combine their expertise and capacity, and improve their innovation capability.
