VafabMiljö AB is owned by the municipalities in Västmanland County together with the municipalities Heby and Enköping, and works with the aim of creating conditions for long-term, sustainable, handling of waste. The most essential values in this work are sustainable environmental considerations, good service, high quality, high efficiency, dedication, and competence. VafabMiljö operates eighteen Recycling Units and seven Waste Stations including various processing units in the region.
AGROPTI- Gas
Vafabmiljö ran a demonstration project of an optimised production system for biogas from biological waste and agricultural feedstock
Biological household waste and ley crop is co-digested in an energy effective anaerobic process. The gas is cleaned and used in public transport buses and private cars in Västerås. The digestate is used as organic fertilizer by the local farmers.
