The combined heat and power system uses an efficient gasification process and is particularly aimed at smaller district heating stations, major industrial enterprises and institutions. The system is designed to use ordinary wood chips from forestry operations.

To develop the combined heat and power system, BioSynergi has established, own and operates a small pilot and demonstration plant with a nominal electricity output of 75 kW and a heat output of 165 kW. This plant has now been in operation for more than 4,000 hours, with more than 3,000 hours of operation generating electricity for sale to the national grid network.
