Firberline Composites produce glassfibre-reinforced plastics (GRP) used both in wind turbine structures and the building industry. Fiberline GRP profiles are non-corrosive and combine high strength with low weight. In conjunction with wind turbines they are ideal for the following applications:
- Blades
- Helihoist
- Nacelle floors
- Nacelle claddings
- Service platforms
- Air intakes and vents
- Boat landings
In the building industry it is used to prevent heat loss. Equipped with GRP frames from Fiberline, new windows from window manufacturer Pro Tec reduces heat loss by more than half compared with modern low-energy units made of conventional materials.
“According to our calculations, the new window will cut the amount of energy used for heating by as much as 52% depending on building architecture and type of glass used. This benefits both the environment and the householder’s economy,” says Bjarne Haulrik, founder and Managing Director of Pro Tec.
Fiberline Composites also have their own windmill, which for a long time produced more electricity than the company consumed. Recently the company also began offering a reasonable leasing deal of electric cars to their employees, in cooperation with the electric car network Better Place Denmark.
"The majority of our workers live within 40km of their workplace, which is ideal for electric cars", says Corporate Sustainability Manager, Benedikte Jørgensen in a press release.
