Purified natural quartz for solar applications

To harness the sun, solar power plants in Japan and China rely on quartz from the steep mountains around Tysfjord, high above the Arctic Circle.

Based in the little town of Drange, Norwegian Crystallites AS produces high purity crystal quartz to be used in semiconductor and in solar industries. Norwegian Crystallites AS is the only producer of highly refined quartz in Norway, and they are mining different quartz deposits of high purity at several locations. This raw material is cleaned up to high standard crystal quartz products. Norwegian Crystallites is now increasing the production capacity to serve the growing solar industry.
