Troll Rosenberg Offshore Substation
Troll WindPower has, together with Bergen Group Rosenberg, designed a turn-key offshore substation in order to have a centralized connection point for offshore wind farms. The Troll Rosenberg Offshore Substation has possibilities for both HVAC- and HVDC-connection to shore, and is based on cost effective, safe and innovative solutions by using the best of the available technology today.
The offshore substation is based on a modular principle in order to suit the variations in capacity for each individual wind farm and the requirements within each offshore wind sector.
The modular system has several important advantages. First, a module comprises a finished electric system layout of a specific size. This means that when an offshore wind farm is planned, one can use a number of equal modules and sub-modules to make it fit to the exact size of the wind farm. Second, a finished and tailor-made electric system is readily available, not having to use valuable time on model-making and complex engineering. The modular system thus simplifies the whole planning process, making it easier, faster and less expensive to develop new offshore wind farms.
The modular system will be adapted in close cooperation with the customer in order to meet the exact customer requirements and to match the configuration for the specific project site.
